Cream Cheese Frosting is great when used with Red Velvet cake/Carrot cake. It is also good for those who do not like sweet buttercream.
Ingredients:
Unsalted butter 227g (8oz), room temperature
Cream cheese 226g (8oz), room temperature
Icing sugar 150g
Vanilla extract 1 tsp
Method:
In a mixing bowl, beat together butter & cream cheese on low speed for few minutes.
Scrape the side of mixing bowl, add in first half of icing sugar (75g), continue beating.
Scrape the side of mixing bowl again, add in second half of icing sugar (75g), continue beating.
Add in vanilla extract, food coloring (optional) and continue beating until it reaches desired consistency.
Place cream cheese into pastry bag fitted with piping tip of your choice, decorate as desired.
